The Rabbit

Element & Hidden Stems

卯 carries only one hidden stem: 乙 Yin Wood. Like the Rat (子) with its single 癸, the Rabbit is pure. No secondary, no tertiary. Concentrated Yin Wood. What this means in practice: Rabbit energy is undiluted flexibility. There is no internal conflict. The vine knows exactly what it is.

The Rabbit in Four Positions

Year Branch: Rabbit generations are marked by diplomacy, aesthetic sensitivity, and a social intelligence that reads rooms without appearing to try. The Rabbit year person doesn't command the room. The Rabbit year person is liked by the room before anyone notices why.

Month Branch: A Rabbit month (roughly March) means the family environment was gentle, cultured, or at minimum valued harmony over confrontation. The person learned early that growing around obstacles is more efficient than growing through them.

Day Branch: 卯 at the Day Branch means the person's intimate nature is flexible and perceptive. Privately, they adapt to their partner like water adapting to its container — not from weakness but from the vine's understanding that wrapping around is stronger than pushing against.

Hour Branch: 卯 at the Hour Branch means later life is oriented toward cultivation, aesthetics, relationships, and the kind of influence that grows slowly and holds forever. The trajectory is the garden, not the battlefield.

Key Relationships

Clash: 酉 Rooster (卯酉冲). Wood meets Metal again, but both Yin this time. The vine meets the jewel. This is a more refined version of the Tiger-Monkey clash — the tension between organic growth and metallic precision.

Harmony: 戌 Dog (卯戌合 → Fire). The Rabbit's Wood combines with the Dog's Earth to produce Fire — an unexpected transformation. The partnership that creates warmth neither possessed alone.

Three Harmony: 亥卯未 (Pig-Rabbit-Goat) → Wood Frame. When all three appear, Wood dominates. The coalition of growth.

What Gets Missed

The Rabbit is not weak. The vine that wraps around a building can split concrete over time. 乙 Yin Wood doesn't break things. It outlasts them. The Rabbit's power is patience multiplied by flexibility multiplied by time. Nothing in the system matches it for long-term persistence.
