初九：明夷于飞，垂其翼。君子于行，三日不食。有攸往，主人有言。
Line 1 — One lowers one's wings. Retreat in progress. Flying low to avoid detection.
六二：明夷，夷于左股，用拯马壮，吉。
Line 2 — Injured in the left thigh. Wounded but still capable. Help others with whatever strength remains.
九三：明夷于南狩，得其大首，不可疾贞。
Line 3 — Their great leader is captured. A major loss. Recovery will be slow.
六四：入于左腹，获明夷之心，出于门庭。
Line 4 — Penetrating the left side of the belly. Understanding why the light was buried. With that understanding, you can leave.
六五：箕子之明夷，利贞。
Line 5 — Darkening of the light as with Prince Chi. Concealing your brilliance to survive a hostile environment. Survival intelligence.
上六：不明晦，初登于天，后入于地。
Line 6 — First one climbed up to heaven, then plunged into the depths. Complete reversal. The darkest point.
