Taken on a 辛丑 or 癸丑 day master with the branches massed in 丑, this formation reaches: the stems hidden in 丑 (己 and 辛) draw across to the 丙 and 戊 hidden in 巳, pulling out the officer for 辛 or 癸. It is the sibling of 子遥巳格 — the same summoning-from-a-distance mechanism on a different day master and a different massed branch.
The chart holds no officer shown openly. Its standing is implied, not manifest — called out of an empty seat by the gathered weight of the 丑 branches. Like all the summoning 杂格, its whole character is drawing the unmanifest into effect: value held in absence, summoned from afar.
It breaks if 巳 or 子 fills the seat outright, if an officer shows openly, or if the massed 丑 are struck by 刑冲. The reading is whether the 丑 are massed and clean and the 巳 stays distant.
