颐。贞吉。观颐,自求口实。

Mountain over Thunder. The open mouth. What goes in and what comes out.

The Lines

初九:舍尔灵龟,观我朵颐,凶。

Line 1 — You let your magic tortoise go. You had your own wisdom and abandoned it to envy what others have.

六二:颠颐,拂经,于丘颐,征凶。

Line 2 — Turning to the summit for nourishment. Seeking sustenance from the wrong source.

六三:拂颐,贞凶,十年勿用,无攸利。

Line 3 — Turning away from nourishment. Rejecting genuine nourishment. Ten years of this and nothing grows.

六四:颠颐,吉。虎视眈眈,其欲逐逐,无咎。

Line 4 — Spying about with sharp eyes like a tiger. The hungry leader seeking resources for others.

六五:拂经,居贞吉,不可涉大川。

Line 5 — Turning away from the path. Unconventional nourishment. Don't take on major challenges until the new source is established.

上九:由颐,厉吉,利涉大川。

Line 6 — The source of nourishment. You are the source others feed from. Carry it with awareness.
