离。利贞,亨。畜牝牛,吉。

Fire over Fire. Brightness doubled. Light that depends on something to burn.

The Lines

初九:履错然,敬之无咎。

Line 1 — The footprints run crisscross. Multiple paths. Your intention is the filter.

六二:黄离,元吉。

Line 2 — Yellow light. Supreme good fortune. Warm, centered, balanced. The ideal brightness.

九三:日昃之离,不鼓缶而歌,则大耋之嗟,凶。

Line 3 — In the light of the setting sun. The light is fading. Accept the transition.

九四:突如其来如,焚如,死如,弃如。

Line 4 — Sudden arrival. Flames up, dies down. Flash-in-the-pan. Impressive for a moment.

六五:出涕沱若,戚嗟若,吉。

Line 5 — Tears in floods. Genuine feeling. The tears are not weakness — they purify.

上九:王用出征,有嘉折首,获匪其丑,无咎。

Line 6 — The king uses him to march forth and punish. Clarity applied to judgment. Precise, not indiscriminate.
