Output Generates Wealth (Combined Family) 食伤生财

What you make becomes what you earn. The warm road and the sharp road, both arrive at wealth.

The Constitution

What you make turns into what you earn. 食神 or 伤官 — either kind of Output — is transparent together with 财, and the production flows into the wealth. The current runs in three stages: day master to Output to Wealth. The self generates the making; the making generates the money. This is read as a combined family because both kinds of Output feed it, and either road arrives at the same destination.

The two roads differ in temperature. 食神生财 is the warm, steady version — measured production converting to money over time, the slow compounding of craft. 伤官生财 is the sharp, fast version — brilliant talent cashing in quickly, the gift turned to wealth with edge and speed. One is patient, one is electric, and both resolve to the same structural fact: this chart turns what it makes into what it earns.

What distinguishes the configuration from simply having wealth is the source. The money here is generated, not found — rooted in the chart's own output. It has a cause, a channel, a self at the head of the current. The wealth is downstream of the making, which means it can be made again.

What You See That Others Don't

You see the line from making to money that others miss. Where some chase wealth directly and some make things without thought of return, you see the channel between — how production becomes income when it is pointed the right way. The perception is constitutional. You instinctively connect what you create to what it can earn.

You also feel which register you run in. You know whether your output is the warm, compounding kind or the sharp, fast kind, and you trust that rhythm. The making wants to flow toward wealth, and you sense the route it should take — slow and deep, or quick and bright.

What Most People Get Wrong About You

They read your earning as either too slow to be ambitious or too commercial to be pure — the patient maker dismissed as unambitious, the fast one dismissed as merely chasing money. The reading splits a single mechanism into two misreads.

食伤生财 is not someone who has to choose between making well and earning well. It is someone whose output and income are one current — the making is the source of the money, and the money is the proof the making landed. The slowness the world reads as low ambition is compounding; the speed it reads as commercialism is talent converting cleanly. Whichever register you run, the integrity is the same: you do not earn apart from what you make. The wealth is your output, returned.

The Pattern You Carry

The structural rule is the connected chain: Output transparent and adjacent to Wealth, the current running day master to Output to Wealth, with a self strong enough to drive it and a 财 with a root to receive it. When the chain is positionally connected and the self can sustain it, the chart turns making into earning reliably, in whichever register it runs.

The trap is 比劫夺财 — peers robbing the wealth at the downstream end, the earned money split among the people around you. And the chain fails when the day master is too weak to carry what the output produces, the making outrunning the self that should sustain it. The work is to keep the current connected and to be strong enough to drive it from making through to money.

Where This Shows Up

In work, you belong wherever creation converts to income — building a craft into a business, a talent into a livelihood, a body of made work into wealth. The warm register suits the long-built enterprise; the sharp register suits the fast, brilliant venture. You do best when your output has a clear channel to earnings rather than being made in a vacuum or chased as money with nothing produced beneath it.

In relationships, the same generativity shows — you tend to give in a way that produces real return, warmth or effort that comes back rather than draining one way. The risk is the wealth-robber's relational face: giving that leaks to those who only take, the output drained before it returns. The work is to keep your generosity pointed where it circulates, so that what you make and give flows back rather than away.
