The Constitution
A chart given over entirely to Metal. The day master is 庚 or 辛 Metal, the branches gather a Metal bureau (巳酉丑) or the Western direction (申酉戌), and Metal so dominates the chart that the reading follows it. This is one of the 一行得气格. 金曰从革 — metal is the following and the reforming — and its nature is 义, righteousness, decisive completion, the clean cut and the willingness to reshape.
A clean 从革格 person carries that nature whole. Not Metal among other elements, but Metal as the entire chart: the principled edge, the decisiveness, the drive to finish cleanly and to reform what needs reshaping, all running pure. The self is the single element, fully — clean and edged all the way through.
The formation runs with Metal, with the Earth that feeds it, and with the Water that drains it cleanly; it is broken by Fire, which conquers Metal and shatters the single-element purity. The reading is whether the Metal dominance is total and whether any Fire threatens to break it.
What You See That Others Don't
You see what should be cut and what should be reformed. Where others tolerate the muddled, you perceive through a single lens — the clean line, the principle that should hold, the thing that should be finished or reshaped. The reading is constitutional. Your chart is Metal entire, so righteousness and decisive clarity are the whole of your nature.
You also carry a sense of right that does not waver. There is no competing element on this axis to soften it; the principle and the edge run pure. That undiluted righteousness is the single-element gift — a character that is all clean decision, clearly.
What Most People Get Wrong About You
They read your decisiveness as harshness, your principles as rigidity, your drive to cut and reform as severity. The reading mistakes a pure single element for an excess of hardness.
从革格 is not someone merely cold or unbending. It is someone whose chart is given wholly to Metal — and that clean edge is a complete formation, not a deficit of warmth. The severity the world reads is the same exactness that finishes rightly and reforms what is broken. You are not harsh by choice; you became Metal entirely, and a nature that is all principle and edge, to those built from mixed forces, can look unyielding. The wholeness is the point — and only Fire, breaking in, threatens it.
The Pattern You Carry
The configuration runs when Metal dominates totally — day master 庚 or 辛, the branches gathering the Metal bureau or Western direction, no Fire to break the purity. Then the chart carries the righteous, decisive, reforming nature whole, running with Metal, the Earth that feeds it, and the Water that drains it cleanly.
The trap is Fire breaking in. Fire conquers Metal, and the single-element formation is fragile at its purity — a Fire stem or a Fire luck cycle melts the dominance and turns the clean edge to conflict. The work is to keep the formation pure and to recognize the Fire that breaks it: the single element thrives by following its decisive, reforming nature and is endangered only by the force that melts it.
Where This Shows Up
In work, you belong where principle, decisiveness, and clean reform are the assets — roles that reward exacting standards, the willingness to cut what does not belong, and the drive to reshape what is broken. You do well where rigor and righteousness are strengths rather than where the role demands constant softness and compromise.
In relationships, you bring clarity and principled reliability — people know exactly where you stand. The same edge can read as hard or unforgiving. The configuration's work is to let the single nature serve rather than test the bond, and to stay aware of the Fire that breaks it — protecting the clean wholeness from what would melt it, and keeping the righteousness in service of loyalty rather than judgment.
